GETTING STARTED.
-
Not at all. Many of my clients are completely new to Pilates.
Every session is tailored to your body, your goals, and where you're starting today. Whether you're recovering from an injury, returning to exercise, or looking to refine an established practice, we'll move at a pace that feels appropriate and challenging.
-
Your first session is about getting to know you.
We'll discuss your movement history, lifestyle, any injuries or limitations, and what you'd like to achieve. From there, we will begin to warm-up into gentle movement and I teach the first two foundational pricinples of alignment/posture.
You'll leave with a clear understanding of where you're starting and how we'll work together moving forward.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
Leggings, joggers, shorts, or athletic tops all work well. Grip socks are recommended for safety on the equipment, but if you don't have a pair yet, we can discuss options during your first visit.
-
Absolutely.
One of the greatest benefits of private Pilates is that every exercise can be modified to meet you exactly where you are. There's no pressure to keep up with a class or have previous experience. We simply begin with your body and build from there.
-
Many people seek Pilates because they want to move with less discomfort and greater confidence.
While Pilates isn't a replacement for medical care, it can be an excellent complement to rehabilitation and long-term movement health. Sessions are individualized around your body's needs and, when appropriate, can support recommendations from your healthcare provider.
-
Consistency creates lasting change.
For most clients, one to two sessions per week provides the best balance of progress and sustainability. During your first session, we'll discuss your goals and determine a schedule that fits both your life and your budget.
-
Every session is designed around your body, your goals, and how you move. Using a variety of Pilates equipment, I'll target the areas where your body needs more strength, stability, or mobility—whether that's in a shortened or lengthened position. Throughout the session, you'll receive precise cueing and thoughtful progressions that help you move more efficiently and confidently.

-
Not at all.
Flexibility isn't a requirement—it's something that often improves over time. Pilates is about learning to move with greater strength, control, and awareness. Whether you feel stiff, athletic, or somewhere in between, we'll build from where you are today.
-
Strength doesn't necessarily happen by pushing harder. It begins by paying attention.
At Equilibrium Pilates, every session starts with curiosity—how your body moves, where it compensates, what it needs, and what it's capable of becoming. Using the Pilates method and a variety of equipment, we'll strengthen where you're weak, improve mobility where you're restricted, and build stability that supports your everyday life.
My hope is that each session helps you move with greater ease, trust your body more deeply, and discover that strength and healing often grow from the simple practice of awareness.
